Alameda 4th of July Parade

Media Road Directions

There are three media access locations for the 4th of July Parade.  These locations were selected to provide the media with live-feed opportunities as well optimal photography points.

  1. VIP interviews before the parade
  2. Morning broadcast location
  3. Noon-time broadcast location

VIP INTERVIEWS: 

Before the parade begins, VIPs and dignitaries will congregate at the parade route starting point.  Media are encouraged to visit the VIP staging area and share a cup of coffee with us.  Interview opportunities with VIPs are from 8:30 to 9:45 AM.

The VIP area is in the parking lot of Jim's Coffee Shop near the intersection of Park and Lincoln in Alameda.  A back entrance to the parking lot is advised given that the start of the parade route is Park and Lincoln.

MORNING BROADCAST LOCATION: 

Parking for news vans has been reserved at the intersection of Park and Central.  The parade route goes up Park Street and this broadcast location has the newly renovated art deco Alameda Theater as a backdrop.  Since the parade moves up Park Street, to get to the live-feed area you need to take a short series of back streets.

Parking is within cabling length to the parade sidewalk.  Risers for cameras will be provide.

NOON BROADCAST LOCATION: 

Parking for news vans has been reserved at the intersection of Central and Webster.  The parade turns at this intersection and has the 19th century Croll's Building as a backdrop.  Since the parade routes through this intersection, to get to the live-feed area, you need to take a short series of back streets.

Parking is within cabling length to the parade sidewalk.  Risers for cameras will be provide.
